NJ just passed three new laws targeting kids' online safety, privacy defaults, and social media research. This New Jersey law takes a different approach that accepts youth will be present online and implements measures to improve their safety on these platforms. Some of the measures include defaulting children’s privacy settings to the highest level by default, limiting surveillance of children’s internet usage to inform content suggestion algorithms and a limitation on push notification especially during school and night hours.
