Identis launches a North American subsidiary combining biometrics, digital ID and payment technologies from Panini, Matica, UbiQ, NBS and Credence ID. Identis is the corporate identity adopted by Matica Group in late 2025. Matica Group , which recently transitioned into its next chapter under the identity ecosystem name Identis, is a Switzerland-headquartered global leader specializing in secure identification, e-passport, and payment card issuance systems. Matica Fintec’s acquisition of Italian company Panini last September brought together smart card issuance capabilities with payment processing and biometric identity verification technology. Matica also explicitly noted at the time the enhanced footprint the deal gave it in the U.S.
