The proposed legislation comes alongside other efforts to develop Lesotho’s digital infrastructure. The government is introducing a digital identity system and working to connect public-sector systems to make it easier for government agencies to exchange data electronically. Electronic payment solutions are also under development for some government transactions, another component of the infrastructure required for digital public services.
