The tool scans video for the telltale signs, like broken frames or unnatural facial movements, on the device itself, which cuts lag and avoids sending data elsewhere. The result is a first-of-its-kind safeguard that “shifts the burden of detection from the user to the device, empowering everyone to navigate the complex AI era with confidence and security,” says Honor vice president Jianfa Sun. The feature works within Honor’s own calling apps and WeChat, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Botim, as well as in short-form video apps like Douyin (China’s version of TikTok) and the streaming network Bilibili, according to the company.
