The OpenAge initiative, which launches today, leverages cryptographic proof-of-age tokens called AgeKeys, which can be housed on a user’s device and re-used for age verification across various apps and websites. In the proposed scenario, AgeKeys are created with an initial age check; currently OpenAge offers selfie-based facial age estimation and document verification for this purpose.

Sophisticated malware found posing as Indonesia’s digital ID app

The malware app, named Android/BankBot-YNRK, was found circulating online outside of the official Google Play app store, posing as an APK file of the digital ID platform. Once a user installs it, the app will start exploiting Android permissions to gain access to sensitive data, targeting banking and cryptocurrency apps.
