Acceptance is still the limit. Apple Wallet IDs work at TSA checkpoints in more than 250 US airports for domestic travel, but relatively few businesses accept them and law enforcement generally does not, so a physical license remains legally required at a traffic stop. Vendors have been working on the merchant side of that gap, with Authologic letting businesses accept Google Wallet credentials directly from a phone.
