Adult Websites Resume Operations in France Following Court Ruling

According to Aylo, the restoration of access follows a ruling from a Paris administrative court that suspended the enforcement of this law. The court determined that local authorities could not impose such requirements on companies based in other EU member states. As a result, the obligations for age verification have been temporarily lifted. Aylo's European headquarters is located in Cyprus. The central issue will revolve around the country of origin principle established by the E-Commerce Directive of 2002, which states that an EU country cannot regulate a company based in another member state without going through a formal process that includes notifying the home country and the European Commission.
