Ofcom: A third of children aged between 8 and 17 with a social media profile have an adult user age after signing up with a false date of birth, according to new research commissioned by Ofcom. This is despite the Online Safety Act (OSA) requiring platforms to beef-up age verification, a responsibility that will come into force in 2025.
